For the month of October, FUMC will participate in this nationwide movement launched by Resurrection, a United Methodist Church in the Kansas City area, to encourage people to be intentional about treating one another with kindness, overcoming the polarization in our country through civility and respect. Our sermon series will reaffirm our commitment that no matter what happens between now and November 5 (or after), we will follow Jesus and treat others as we want them to treat us – including those with whom we disagree. No matter what – kindness. No matter what – humility. No matter what – respect. No matter what – love.

After spending a few weeks learning about Christian Nationalism and what Christians aren’t, for the next four weeks we’ll focus on what Christians are! In these challenging weeks leading up to the election, our country needs what we have to offer - kindness, humility, respect, and love. So join us as we do our part to spread some good in the world! We’ll start this Sunday with exploring kindness.
