We come again to Pentecost, the celebration of the beginnings of the Church and the recognition of God's constant presence with us in the Spirit. We tell the story every year, and every year there is a shock at the idea of fire dancing on people's heads, of the cacophany of languages rising from the disciples. There is neither rhyme nor resason to such chaos, it seems -- and yet there is pattern, deliberation, connection, and possibility. What completely unexpected thing is happening is your life that calls you to deeper and more active faith?
