“Do justice,” says Micah, but sometimes it’s hard to figure out what the just move is. The prophet Isaiah unpacks what, broadly, might be part of justice; part of mercy; part of walking in God’s light. Is it just a matter of following a prescription? What does it mean when others aren’t doing this? Is part of our work calling that out? “The Lord will guide you always” may be a little more complicated than the first, second, or even third glance, which invites us to look again.
