Advent is here and with it we begin a new sermon series! Over the four weekends of Advent, we’ll be looking at how each of the four gospel writers approach telling the Advent story. No two versions are the same. So, why did Mark only focus on John the Baptist while Matthew tells of the angel’s visit to Joseph? What did each gospel writer prioritize and why? Finally, what can we learn from how they wrote the greatest story ever told?

We begin our Advent sermon series this week exploring how the Gospel of Mark approaches telling the story of Jesus’s birth - or, more accurately, doesn’t. Join us as we look at who Mark was writing for and what he hoped to accomplish when he set about the task of chronicling Jesus’s life and ministry.
