Our church passed its welcoming statement in 2007, but the world has changed a lot since then! What might we learn from disabled, LGBTQ+, and/or persons of color in our congregation about what welcoming looks like in 2024? What might we learn from Jesus? Join us as we prepare to meet new people this fall with our sermon series, “Beyond Welcoming” structured around John Wesley’s Three Simple Rules - do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God.

This week we kick off our “Beyond Welcoming” sermon series by considering what it means to “do no harm” as we welcome new people into our community. Our scripture will be Jesus and the Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:21-28).
