Advocacy Day 2024

Petitioning for better mental health care

On March 13, 2024 we joined United Methodists from all over the state to spend the day advocating with state legislators. We petitioned our lawmakers for better access to mental health care, assuring that all persons have access to affordable care and to reduce the stigma of mental health.

Strength & hope

Semicolon butterflies were displayed on the Capitol lawn to represent strength, perseverance and hope for people who have experienced mental illness and their loved ones. 50 of these beautiful butterflies were made by FUMC staff and kids in Sunday school.

Make a difference

Did you know that 1 in 5 adults in Michigan experience mental illness each year? It’s time to take action and advocate for better mental health care access! Join fellow United Methodists in Michigan in making a difference for those in need. Let’s work together to improve access to care and support for all.

We have valuable voices. Sharing our reason, experience and faith with lawmakers can impact policy and encourage action. Send messages by mail, email or phone call. Interested in getting involved in the next Advocacy Day? Email info@fumc-a2.org
