Trunk or Treat 2024
Trunks and trick or treating
In October 2024 we held our annual Trunk or Treat at Green Wood. The turnout was great with 20 trunks decorated and over 40 kids trick or treating. The trunks were incredibly creative, and included a haunted library, a dinosaur party and Little Red Riding Hood’s forest. The costumes included a special visit from the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters and Te Fiti from Moana, as well as a few princesses, pumpkins and pretty cute critters.
Food, games & music
In addition to Trick or Treating, we had hot dogs, snacks, and a fire and goodies for s’mores. We also had lawn games, including spooky putt putt, kooky corn hole and an excellent eyeball relay race. There was Halloween themed music for the whole night that resulted in a non-stop dance party!
Engagement and outreach
We had many kids ministry families in attendance as well as people from nearby neighborhoods that came through for the fun. We offer this event to engage families that regularly attend FUMC as well as to create an opportunity for outreach to families in the community looking for Halloween festivities in their neighborhood.
