The letters of Peter aren’t as popular or well-known as some of the other parts of the New Testament, but Peter’s words to the growing Church in the Roman Empire are familiar to us many centuries later: be kind. Recognize that people are hungry for the grace you can name. Don’t get so caught up in your own stuff that you don’t see the glory around you. Of course, Peter also thought the world was ending within the decade, so we would have been quite the surprise. How are we taking the time to be kind and aware of God’s glory within and beyond us?
