This weekend our chancel choir offers a performance of The Ballad of the Brown King, composed by African American woman composer, Margaret Bonds, with text written by Langston Hughes. This cantata tells of the three kings who visited Jesus after his birth and focuses on Balthazar, the African king. The music includes elements of European, Jazz, Calypso, and Gospel music. You won’t want to miss it!
